Quick journal while I"m at NYCC.  My wife decides it's unfair that some people can't go to conventions, so she throws a Virtual Convention of her own online.  Nice!  It's got panels, costuming, art, and everything.  Did I ever mention that my wife rocks?

Funny how when I was living in New York, there wasn't a NY Comic Con, but now that I am 3,000 miles away, NY Comic Con is one of the biggest event of the year. :/

So, we return to NY for Comic Con at the Javits Center next weekend and I am bringing a pile of art and books...with a newly bummed back.  Crap.  Who can I hire to haul 100 lbs of faerie art?  Is it selfish at this point to pray that I sell out of EVERYTHING so there's nothing to haul back?  And it's not even the money I'm thinking of.

Cross your fingers and wish me luck.

This Saturday, we'll be taking some time off of TOTF photoshop and heading to THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI, a dance & multimedia experience.  Events like this not only help me connect with the art community around us, but also helps me refocus my inspiration.

We'll be going to the Red Carpet Celebration this Saturday - It's playing for two more weeks at the El Portal Theatre In Hollywood!

It's been a long time since I've gone to a convention as a fan and not an artist.  What crazy ride!  And what a perspective.  I had forgotten what it was like to be a fan, and now, I feel rejuvenated and connected.  Ready to work and explore further the urban fantasy world that I've created.

...as I work on the Generation One art book, a really reflective process that I hope will push my art as I work on Generation Five.

The Generations are not broken down by years so much as my moods and the collection of models that I work with.  The Gen One years was explorative and experimental in terms of photoshop, lighting, and costumine, never mind developing the core of what will become Time of the Faeries.

I'm quite proud actually.

Time for MOAR art!
